How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure and improve Herald, including to:
- create, schedule, publish and manage content and media across the platforms you connect;
- show analytics, insights and recommendations about your content and accounts;
- run features you set up on your behalf, such as replies, follow-up comments, messages and automations;
- let you collaborate with your team and with the AI agents you connect, within the permissions you set;
- send service messages, such as sign-in codes, invitations, alerts and notifications;
- protect accounts and the service, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems;
- comply with law and enforce our terms; and
- for any other purpose we describe to you when we collect the information, or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or use your content or connected-account data to train AI models.
Connected platforms
Herald works with social networks, video platforms and email providers that you choose to connect. When you connect one, you authorise Herald to access the information and perform the actions that platform allows and that you approve, such as publishing and managing posts, reading your account's content and performance, and handling comments and messages. We use that access only to provide the features you use in Herald.
Each platform also handles your information under its own terms and privacy policy, and what Herald can do depends on what each platform permits at the time:
| Platform | Their terms | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Facebook, Instagram and Threads (Meta) | Terms | Privacy policy |

How we share information
We share information only as needed to provide Herald, or as described here:

- With your consent, or at your direction.
How long we keep it
| Information | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|

| Content and media | Create, store, schedule, publish and manage your work | Until you or your workspace delete it |
| Connected-account information | Provide the features you use with each connected platform | While the account is connected, and as needed afterwards for the purposes described |
| Performance and engagement data | Show analytics and insights about your content | While your workspace uses Herald |
| Messages, comments and contacts handled for you | Run the replies, comments and automations you set up | While the related feature or workspace is in use |
| Activity records | Show who did what in a workspace, and keep it accountable | For the life of the workspace |
We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, for as long as your account or workspace is active, or as the law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Copies in backups and logs are removed on their normal schedule.
Deleting your account
You can delete content and media, disconnect platforms and revoke agent access yourself at any time. To delete your whole account, open Account, then Profile, and choose Delete account. We email you a code to confirm it is you.
- Straight away, you are signed out everywhere, and the agent keys and authorisations tied to your account stop working.
- For 10 days, you can change your mind by signing in and recovering your account.
- After that, we delete your account and personal information. Workspaces you own alone are deleted with their content, and their other members lose access. In workspaces you share with others, the work you did stays with that workspace, shown as from “Deleted user”.
We normally complete deletion within 30 days of your request. Content already published to other platforms or sent by email is held by those services under their own policies, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep. If you can't sign in, write to [email protected] from the address on your account.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security and cookies
We use technical and organisational measures to protect information, such as encryption, secure connections, access controls and account protections like two-step verification. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Herald uses cookies and similar technologies that are needed to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and protect the service. We do not use advertising cookies.
International transfers
Herald and its service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where we do, we take steps to protect it as this policy describes and as the law requires.
Children
Herald is not meant for children, and you must be at least 16 to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Herald and the law change. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Herald is operated by Wusulab. Questions: [email protected].
